Beyond the Balancing Act: What Model Should You Choose for Your Marriage and Work?
By: William David Spencer, Aída Besançon Spencer | December 4, 2013
Our values as egalitarians should affect not only the model of marriage and work we pick, but also the way we structure our lives.

Editor's Note: Profound Submission
By: Tim Krueger | September 5, 2013
Watching God engage different cultures is not just a trendy exercise in diversity; it reveals something about our God. The gospel challenges every culture in unique ways, and is incarnated uniquely in each one.

From Violence to Tenderness
By: José Vinces Rodríguez | September 5, 2013
I believe the church fails to oppose injustice when it bases its beliefs on incorrect, distorted, and convenient interpretations of Scripture that allow the devaluation and objectification of women.

Whatever You Do (Part Three)
By: John Newton | August 21, 2013
Paul’s emphasis throughout his instructions is not on authority in relationships or on rights, but on serving. He does not give permission to a husband to go to his wife and tell her, “It’s your duty to submit to me,” or to parents to demand obedience from their children.

By: John Newton | August 14, 2013
If Paul had been typical for his time, he would have given instructions only to wives (to submit to their husbands), children (to obey their parents) and slaves (to obey their masters). Wading the Waters of Marriage with Hope Amidst Socio-economic Challenges
By: Jenipha Wasonga | July 22, 2012
This recording examines the attitudes that negate God’s purpose for marriage often in the form of religious restriction on women in the home, church, and society. It then outlines the purpose, place, and sanctity of marriage, and shows how marriage relationships can be improved through mutual submission despite storms worsened by socio-economic situations.

When Marriage Isn't Mutual
By: Morven R. Baker | June 5, 2012
The Browns’ church held strongly to the view that “women should be silent” (1 Cor. 14:34), and that all leadership in the church should be male. The congregation was taught that God was male, as Jesus called him “Father” (John 10:30). And, for the first years of their marriage, Norma obediently adhered to the teachings of her church [...]
