CBE equips Christians to live out the Bible’s call for women and men to lead and serve as equals in the home, church, and world.
Equip Making the case that women’s equality is a biblical imperative that helps all people thrive
Advocate Collaborating with individuals and organizations to cultivate women’s leadership
Transform Combatting abuse and domestic violence by recovering God’s vision for relationships
CBE is supported primarily by donations from individuals who share our vision of a future where all believers are free to exercise their gifts for God’s glory and purposes, with the full support of their Christian communities.
Put More Women in the Pulpit
CBE believes that women are empowered by God to lead, teach, and preach. We also know that answering God’s call to lead isn’t always easy. That’s why we’re determined to help more women reach the pulpit with the Alvera Mickelsen Memorial Scholarship. So far, CBE has awarded $66,000 to eleven women in seminary. This year, CBE is hoping to award even more.
Invest in Girls
A UNESCO report estimates that 1 in 10 girls in Sub-Saharan Africa miss school when they have their period. This means girls can miss up to 20% of the school year merely because they lack sanitary products. In addition to this educational gap, girls also face restrictive beliefs and attitudes that the church often perpetuates.
Yet educated girls have more resilience and confidence to shape their own lives and contribute to their communities. CBE’s ministry partners in Kenya, Uganda, and Zimbabwe are breaking down barriers that keep girls from learning and achieving their dreams. You can stand with them as they counter religious and cultural stigmas, teach that girls and boys deserve equal love and respect, and provide reusable sanitary pad kits.
