Redeeming the Stories We Tell: Overwriting patriarchal narratives in pursuit of gender reconciliation
By: Rob Dixon | March 5, 2016
We are shaped by our stories. In fact, our stories, once in place, determine much of our behavior without regard to their accuracy or helpfulness. Once these stories are stored in our minds, they stay there largely unchallenged until we die. And here is the main point: these narratives are running (and often ruining) our [...]

Women’s History Month: Early Church Women and Desert Mothers
By: Dr. Mimi Haddad, President of CBE International | March 4, 2016
The integral inclusion of women in the life of the church continued after the death of the apostles. Preferring rejection, torture, and even death to renouncing their faith, women served Christ as missionaries, scholars, and pilgrims. Women were also noted among the martyrs of the early church, and their astounding courage and faith changed the [...]

Response to Kevin DeYoung’s “Our Pro-Woman, Complementarian Jesus,” Part 1
By: Philip B. Payne | March 2, 2016
Kevin DeYoung’s article, “Our Pro-Woman, Complementarian Jesus,” makes two main assertions. First, Jesus was pro-woman and virtually all scholars agree. Second, Jesus was complementarian. At The Feet Of Jesus
February 26, 2016
Based on simple observation, I’ve concluded that the modern-day Christian church is more concerned with following the rules than with following Jesus.

The Child Bride Epidemic: Tradition and Patriarchy
By: Aliyah Jacobs | February 24, 2016
Ukuthwalwa. Girls as young as fourteen are being forced to marry men double their age. In some cases, men as old as fifty-five take these virgin girls as their brides. These daughters are abducted and forced to marry a stranger, and then they are raped.

Women, Helpers, and Ribs: Part 3
By: Scott Lencke | February 23, 2016
That woman was taken out of man is a recognition that she stands on equal footing with him. This was a beautiful, creative act of God that communicated that man’s suitable helper, the one actually fit for him, would come from him.

More Than A Beautiful Body: Star Wars, Beauty Standards, and the Imago Dei
By: Emmaline Kempf | February 19, 2016
In our culture, a woman’s body is regarded as her most valuable attribute. Carrie Fisher’s recent experience demonstrates how pervasive this expectation really is, and how women today are fighting that expectation.

Why I Call Myself An Evangelical Feminist: Part 2
By: Amy R. Buckley | February 17, 2016
Back then, I didn't know any feminists, and I didn't think it was possible to be a Christian and a feminist. It didn't occur to me until years later to think critically about the jokes, or to question why so many—including evangelicals—write off feminists.
