Dr. Olena is a freelance editor and writing consultant. She retired from serving as D.Min. Project Coordinator and Associate Professor at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in 2019.

She has published Holocaust curricula and poetry; numerous articles and book reviews; and book chapters in We’ve Come This Far: Reflections on the Pentecostal Tradition and Racial Reconciliation; Forgiveness, Reconciliation, and Restoration: Multidisciplinary Studies from a Pentecostal Perspective; and But These are Written: Essays on Johannine Literature in Honor of Professor Benny C. Aker. She also authored the official biography of Dr. Stanley M. Horton, Stanley M. Horton: Shaper of Pentecostal Theology, co-edited/co-authored with Eric Newberg Children of the Calling: Essays in Honor of Stanley M. Burgess and Ruth Vassar Burgess and co-edited/co-authored Volume 21 of the Global Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies series, Women in Pentecostal and Charismatic Ministry:  Informing a Dialogue on Gender, Church, and Ministry. She has a forthcoming book (2025), “I was a Stranger and You Took Me In”—Pentecostal Responses to the Refugee Crisis.

Dr. Olena has taught courses in Jewish Studies and Theology at Evangel University, AGTS, The King’s University, and Hebraic Christian College; taught abroad in several countries; and served as editor of AGTS’ e-journal, Encounter: Journal for Pentecostal Ministry. She served the Society for Pentecostal Studies (sps-usa.org) as Executive Director (2011-2016) and currently is serving a four-year presidential term (2022-2026).
