CBE is committed to dismantling theological patriarchy wherever we find it. Womanist theology gives us tools for recognizing how sexism and racism are interwoven forms of oppression for Black women and other women of color. Womanist theology also teaches us that inequality for one is injustice for us all. Because we serve a God who hears the cries of the oppressed, acts to liberate them, and calls his people to join in his justice work, we want to listen to what these writers have to say about unraveling both sexism and racism.
