Does the Bible give men authority over women?

An enormous amount of confusion has always surrounded these verses. 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 has been used to control not only how the church perceives the service of men and women in worship, but more fundamentally how the church perceives the relations of man and woman to one another. For that reason, it is important to gain as much clarity as possible about the meaning of the apostles instructions to women and men during worship.
