Mutuality Matters: A Theology of Family + An Apocalyptic Advent

Yes, we really do talk about advent and the apocalypse. It is 2020, after all. Join hosts Blake and Erin and their guest Dr. Emily McGowin as they discuss what family really means for our gender theology and what advent can look like this year. Dr. Emily H. McGowin serves as Assistant Professor of Theology at Wheaton College and as a priest and Canon Theologian in the ACNA diocese of Churches for the Sake of Others (C4SO). She specializes in the study of lived religion and what it offers the work of theology. Her first book  was published by Fortress Press in 2018: Quivering Families: The Quiverfull Movement and Evangelical Theology of the Family. Her Ph.D. in theology is from the University of Dayton. She has an M.Div. from Truett Seminary at Baylor University, and a B.A. in biblical studies from Criswell College. She is married to Ron and they have three children. You can follow her on Twitter: @emilymcgowin. For her most recent project, she is serving as the editor for a new series tentatively titled The Fullness of Time: A Journey Through the Church Year which will include many diverse authors and theologians. The first two books in the series will release in Winter 2022 from Intervarsity Press. Recorded independently. Mutuality Matters is now part of the CBE International library of free online resources on women, men, equality, and the Bible.
