He Sees: A Poem for Every Woman

You have come a long way,
A journey with many twists and turns along the way.
Mountains to climb with views of delight,
Deep valleys so dark seemed like endless night.
Yet, today you stand as a true testament to His faithfulness
‘Cos He saw you, before you were created, with His tender loving kindness!

Many are the roles you play—caring, serving, loving
and just being there for those who come along your way,
but behind the scenes you hide away.
It’s as though you have so much to do and find so little time for you.
But yet at times you feel all alone, struggling hard to define,
and wonder, “Is it all worth it?”
“Yes,” He says, “I see each and every deed you do.”
And nothing goes unnoticed by the ONE who sees!

We all have days of glee and days of gloom.
Some days praises to Him readily bloom and
on other days too weary and frayed, doubting our calling,
‘cos of the man-made structures, forcing us to stop our sharing.
In silence you ask, “Is there still a purpose for me to fulfill?”
“Oh yes!” He says, “You were created for more than this!
Your hair may turn grey, and your hands and your feet may say ‘nay’
But as long as there is breath in your lungs, there still remains a purpose my dear!
‘Cos I knitted you, in your mother’s womb for MY purpose to glow,”
says He, who sees you, inside and out!

Yes, He sees, not just the face you show the world,
but the ache beneath your smile,
the sigh that slips out when no one hears,
the longing hidden beneath the layers of discrimination.
‘Cos He is the God who saw her—Eve, the first woman
birthed from bone and breath, and not from dust,
formed to be a partner, not just a property,
not an afterthought, but the pinnacle of His creation,
when He declared, “It is very good!”
Though sin shattered Eden’s Shalom, He still clothed her in His mercy,
‘Cos He is the God of compassion—who sees beyond our weakness
And fills our empty places with holy satisfaction and reason!

He saw Hagar, discarded in the desert.
She was just a maid with no choice or voice in the story.
Just used, dismissed, and then sent away with the child,
with no mercy, no map, no one to plead her case or cause
and with no reason or means left for survival.
But she named Him El Roi—the God who sees,
because He found her in the midst of her greatest trial.
The God of love to ALL whom He created
made a way for her with love and righteousness!

He saw Hannah, mocked for her barrenness
Lips trembling, tears flooding the temple floor,
year after year, she bore the ridicule going up to the temple.
Eli thought she was drunk, but God saw her broken heart
When others mistook her desperation for disgrace
He saw her ache and made her womb a wellspring for a prophet.
Her pain became the nation’s blessing; He tore the label that tried to silence her calling,
and crowned her with the honour of carrying His servant.
For He is the God who sees the deepest desires, the secret aches,
and turns silent sorrows and pain into sacred praises!

He saw the woman who was accused, labeled, dragged, and exposed.
Her sin was broadcasted, while her accusers hid their own.
But Jesus knelt in the sand,
where she had fallen without any dignity, value, worth, or hope,
only death by stoning awaited.
But no stone fell, only grace,
His grace, saying, “…nor do I condemn you,” “sin no more!”
Lifted her from shame and filled her deepest longing with the divine calling!

He saw the bleeding woman, ashamed, isolated, and discriminated.
Twelve years of painful whispers and wondering,
“Is it my sin?”  “Where will I find the cost for my healing?”
The crowd pressed in from every corner,
a barrier too strong, too tight for her to defeat and go nearer,
Yet by faith she reached out and touched His garment’s corner
and His power passed on with love for restoration.
Trembling with fear and overwhelmed with guilt, she tried to hide,
But the God who sees called her “Daughter,”
and she was never the same again!

He saw Mary Magdalene,
her past followed like shadows to her name.
But His love rewrote her story,
when she broke all barriers, seeking His love and glory
All she had was her broken heart and pain,
and in His embrace, she found hope again.
The risen King chose her to carry His story—
the first voice of victory, the preacher of His resurrection story
Yes, HE is alive, and HE sees!
So that you can become a part of HIS story!

He saw Mary, the mother, a teenager then, filled with both fear and faith,
Favoured yet fragile in a world quick to condemn and judge.
She was at risk of losing her life by being stoned to death,
by those who hold only the laws so high than show love to all.
Yet she chose to bear the weight of heaven’s promise for us all.
She later stood at the foot of a cross, shattered in silent agony and grief
From the cross, He saw her; though His pain was excruciating,
still, with His final breath, He made sure that she was in good care.
A mother embraced by love, even in the darkest hour—He saw!

Yesterday, today, and forever He remains the same.
He still sees YOU, and calls you by name.
Silenced by traditions or wrong doctrines,
Shamed by expectations and shunned by authoritarians
Told to sit quietly in your own corner of ministry,
while your spirit burns with holy fire and with destiny,
with visions to birth, with words to speak, with songs to sing. . .
Yes, He sees you!
Your prayers whispered in kitchens, your tears cried into pillows,
your journals full of sermons, testimonies, mission plans, and visions,
not one has gone unseen by the One who sees.
He sees your gifts unused, your voice uninvited, your calling questioned and debated.
He still calls, and yes, HE still SEES!

So remember, my dear child,
no deed, no tear, no hidden care you share will not go unnoticed by the One Who Sees.
He thinks a multitude of good thoughts about you,
the one who dances over you with singing,
The One who quiets you with His love
The One who says, “You are precious,” says,
“I am making you more like Me.”
So when you feel discouraged, when you feel unnoticed, alone and defeated,
just listen to His whispers, “I care, and I see! So just do one thing, my child?
Just remember to see yourself as how I SEE YOU!” says HE!

You were not made to compete with man,
but to complete the call, beside him stand.
You were not made to be beneath him,
but to complement him, to fulfill His original plan.
Like Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, distinct, yet united,
you too, were made to walk and work in holy partnership and in communication.
You are not less than, an afterthought, or an addition,
but in His image you were created and fashioned
by the One who sees, to make you a being of transformation,
for His celebration, which is beyond your imagination!

So arise, woman of God!
Not to fight for permission, reputation, or recognition
Nor to chase after titles, applause, or position
but to seek Him with sincere love and adoration
to show forth His glory, to walk with Him boldly
with the gifts He has entrusted to you, solely.
Be it in the boardrooms or in the kids’ bedrooms,
in pulpits or behind the scenes with those in the journey of pain,
to fulfill the purpose that He had breathed into your being.
You are His masterpiece, crafted with care,
a treasure beyond measure, precious and so rare.
HE SEES YOU, dear woman of God!

Yes, HE SEES YOU!
You were NEVER unnoticed or invisible to the ONE who sees.
HE calls you… to arise!
So arise! Fulfill your calling and your purpose!
You are chosen, you are holy and set apart, for His glory.
Yes, you were born for such a time as this, to be a part of His unfolding story.
You are His treasure and His precious possession,
called by Him to declare His praises to the nations and generations.
So arise! Lift up your head, and see yourself as HE SEES YOU!
