What is evangelical womanism? In its simplest terms evangelical womanism is a Christ-centered, holistic lens that empowers evangelical disciples of Jesus to remain mindful of race, gender, and class dynamics in all that we do. Womanism is also the framework through which Black women have naturally engaged the world for centuries. What can we now learn by centering the wisdom of Black women disciples? What would it look like for all disciples to simultaneously and holistically pursue gender, race, and class equality in all that we do? How would such an approach glorify God and transform our personal discipleship, our ministries, and our communities? What are some trustworthy resources to get us there? This is a conversation for disciples of all backgrounds who seek to develop a more just and holistic approach to healing our world.
