Tina Fernandes Botts

Tina Fernandes Botts is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at California State University, Fresno.  She has a law degree from Rutgers University, Camden and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Memphis. Her areas of specialization are philosophy of law, philosophy of race, feminist philosophy, and hermeneutics. She is the editor of Philosophy and the Mixed Race Experience, published by Lexington Books, an imprint of Rowman & Littlefield, in 2016, the co-author, with Rosemarie Tong, of the fifth edition of Routledge’s Feminist Thought, published in 2017, and the author of For Equals Only: Race, Equality, and the Law, an academic monograph forthcoming from Lexington Books.  In addition, Dr. Botts has published many journal articles and book chapters in her areas of specialization including chapters in the Oxford Handbook of Philosophy and Race, edited by Naomi Zack, and the Routledge Companion to Feminist Philosophy, edited by Ann Garry, Serene J. Khader, and Alison Stone, and journal articles in the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal, the Journal of Applied Ethics and Philosophy, Res Philosophica, and Philosophy Today.
