Rev. Dr. Renita J. Weems

Rev. Dr. Renita J. Weems (PhD, Princeton Theological Seminary) is a biblical scholar, public theologian, writer, speaker, and ordained minister. Dr. Weems is the first African American woman to receive a PhD in Old Testament. Throughout her career, Dr. Weems has been on faculty at several institutions, including Vanderbilt University, Spelman College, and American Baptist College. Dr. Weems and her husband live in Nashville and are the proud parents of their daughter, Savannah Nia.
