John Thompson

John L. Thompson has taught at Fuller Theological Seminary for 25 years as professor of historical theology. A Reformation historian by training, he studies the history of biblical interpretation and has written three books that focus on how traditional commentators have grappled with gender issues. He has been married to Marianne Meye Thompson for 35 years, with whom he has two amazing daughters. John’s workshop will argue for revising our views of just how patriarchal traditional biblical commentators really were.
