Carolyn Custis James
Carolyn Custis James (BA, Sociology, MA, Biblical Studies) thinks deeply about what it means to be a female follower of Jesus in a postmodern world. As a cancer survivor, she is grateful to be alive and determined to address the issues that matter most. Her speaking and writing ministry is dedicated to addressing the deeper needs which confront both women and men as they endeavor to extend God’s kingdom together in a messy and complicated world.
She travels extensively as a popular speaker for women’s conferences, churches, colleges, seminaries, and other Christian organizations. Carolyn blogs on her website www.carolyncustisjames.com and at Huffington Post. You can also find her on FaceBook and Twitter as @carolynezer. She founded and is president emerita of the Synergy Women’s Network which is now part of Missio Alliance. She is an adjunct faculty member at Biblical Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania, a consulting editor for Zondervan’s Exegetical Commentary Series on the New Testament, and contributing editor of Leadership Journal. She and her husband live in Sellersville, Pennsylvania.
Her books have been described as “provocative,” “honest,” and “deeply moving.” Her latest is Malestrom: Manhood Swept into the Currents of a Changing World.
