Beth Elness-Hanson

Beth Elness-Hanson is a Bible teacher – with missional and intercultural passions – who teaches at Johannelund Teologiska Högskola in Uppsala, Sweden (PhD, VID Specialized University, Stavanger Norway). During her early years, Beth lived in Hong Kong as a missionary kid, and she later served as a missionary, teaching at the Maasae Girls Lutheran Secondary School in Tanzania. Beth’s ongoing research focuses on intercultural biblical interpretation that builds bridges of understanding across cultures. She also enjoys day hikes, being creative with her teenage daughter, supporting others through the cancer journey (Beth’s husband died in 2010 from brain cancer)
