
Ben Witherington III
Ben Witherington is the Amos Professor of New Testament for doctoral studies at Asbury Theological Seminary, and has taught at Duke, Vanderbilt, Gordon-Conwell, and Ashland Seminary. He is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, Gordon Conwell, and the University of Durham in England, where he did his PhD on women and their roles in the New Testament. He is an ordained United Methodist minister, and the author of over 50 books on the New Testament.
A popular lecturer, Ben speaks regularly for churches, colleges and Christian groups around the world. He is devoted to addressing the more challenge issues facing the church today. In addition to his books, He has written commentaries, articles and blogs and has been interviewed by radio and history/ documentary television.
Ben speaks widely on gender and faith, and has graced CBE events in the US and abroad. His biblical, historical capacity is matched by humor and devotion to the church and God’s daughters. In recognition of his work, CBE awarded him a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
