At "Created for Partnership," CBE's 2018 International Conference in Helskini, Finland, Dr. Mimi Haddad will lead a plenary session entitled “Women’s Strong Rescue Throughout Scripture: God’s Ideal Then & Now.” Exploring Old Testament & New Testament passages, Haddad will consider how the main thrust of Scripture supports rather than thwarts women’s leadership and why this matters today.

Dr. Mimi Haddad will lead a discussion on "Women’s Leadership in Church History: How the Early Evangelicals Promoted Biblical Gender Equality” at the Ras Beirut Christian Church. Haddad’s lecture, offered in English and Arabic, will consider how women throughout history used their gifts in advancing the Church’s mission. In particular, the lecture will examine women leaders among the early evangelicals as they enlarged the social and theological understanding of Christian faith in their varied communities.

CBE was a recipient of the Wilshire Baptist Church Mission Plus Grant to expand outreach on behalf of gender equality through literature distribution through partners and events in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa; Kenya; Uganda; the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC); and Haiti! Following a very successful partnership, Mimi Haddad was invited to lead a podcast on “Is God Male?” to explore the impact of theological patriarchy on development and gender justice globally.

At the Evangelical Theological Society's (ETS) national convention in Providence, Rhode Island, November 15, 2017, Mimi Haddad served as moderator for the panel, “Gender and Bible Translation.” Panelists included Craig Blomberg, Tremper Longman III, Mark Strauss, and Cynthia Westfall. Panelists responded to Dr. Aloo Mojola’s paper “Bible Translation and Gender—Challenges and Opportunities, with specific reference to sub-Saharan Africa.” Dr. Mojola presented this paper at CBE’s Orlando Conference, July 2017.
