2018 "Created for Partnership" CBE International Conference
August 03, 2018 - August 04, 2018

Helsinki, Finland | August 3-4, 2018

CBE International's 2018 conference theme was "Created for Partnership," and was hosted by RaTas (Christians for Equality), in partnership with CBE International.

Why Finland?
While Finland has a reputation as a world leader in gender equality, the story is different inside Finland's evangelical churches. A small but influential minority claiming to represent “true” biblical Christianity promotes male-only leadership and patriarchal gender roles in churches throughout the country. This is crippling the advancement of the gospel in this mostly secular country.

In the words of Eeva Sallinen Simard, "Finland is one of the most gender-equal societies in the world, but I had the same experience with gender roles in the evangelical church in Finland that I later had in a US evangelical church. Women are still pressed to the sidelines of the evangelical church, no matter how egalitarian the surrounding secular culture."

Read her inspiring story, "From Secret Egalitarian to Fierce Advocate" on CBE's blog, Arise.

“Created for Partnership” is based on Genesis 1:27

"So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them."

CBE Denver Leader/Pastor Gathering
July 23, 2018 - July 23, 2018

From the CBE Denver Chapter:

"On behalf of the CBE International Denver Chapter (CBE), you are invited to the first gathering for local, like-minded leaders who ascribe to biblical mutuality between men and women in the church, home, and society. You are receiving this invitation because you have expressed your interest in being more involved in CBE Denver's current happenings and/or future engagements.

The good news is, since being revitalized in Fall 2016, CBE Denver has gained momentum, especially on Denver Seminary campus.

The great news is, you and your congregation can have an active role as we seek to reach the broader Denver community with the good news about biblical mutuality in Kingdom-building.

But in order for this Kingdom-vision to come to fruition, it will take like-minded leaders like yourself laboring side-by-side with others for the sake of the gospel.

Therefore, the purpose of this gathering will be threefold:

1) Connect with leaders for mutual encouragement

2) Converse about current, concrete ways in which you and your congregation can commit to partnering and participating with CBE Denver in Fall 2018

3) Create a space for you to: a) commit to engagement opportunities that best fit your personal and congregational setting, and b) contribute your ideas about future pastors' gatherings and CBE happenings in the Denver area

Will you come and contribute to the conversation? Your participation and partnership is vital."

CBE Colorado Springs - "In the Beginning..." Conference
April 14, 2018 - April 14, 2018

(From the 2018 Colorado Springs April Event flyer:)

CBE International's Colorado Springs Chapter is hosting a gathering titled “In the Beginning...” We invite you to invest a morning learning about what God’s creational design for marriage and relationships was like—in the beginning…

In the beginning… the man and woman enjoyed mutual equality–both made
in God’s image.

In the beginning… the man and woman lived in mutual authority as functional equals–both were given the dominion (rulership) and procreation mandates.

In the beginning… there was no hierarchy, headship, a designated leader or spiritual cover.

In the beginning… things were “very good.”
