Join Dr. Mimi Haddad at the 2016 "Truth Be Told" international conference as she will be one of the plenary speakers to speak out against gender based violence and lecture on "Ideas Have Consequences: Justice Begins with a Consistent Reading of Scripture."

The teachings and practices of Christian faith have significant implications for girls and women globally. As Plato said, ideas rule the world. Ideas have consequences, and religious ideas even more so, since they are said to represent God. What has been the impact of Christian teachings? Have they nurtured women's flourishing? This lecture will answer these questions by considering the three views the church has historically held regarding women's value, purpose, and equality, each supported with a particular reading of Scripture that constitutes a unique worldview with enormous ethical implications.
