PBA Student Leadership Dessert: The Early Evangelicals: An Obsession with Calvary Drove Suffrage and Abolition

Teaching

Dr. Mimi Haddad will give a lecture titled “The Early Evangelicals: An Obsession with Calvary Drove Suffrage and Abolition” as part of the MacArthur School of Leadership (MSL) at Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA).

Captured by the transforming power of Calvary, the early evangelicals preached on Galatians 2:20—”I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me”—more than any Christian group in history. Was this the reason they’re social reforms on gender and slavery were sweeping? This conversation will consider the unique ways the early evangelicals embraced the teachings of Scripture and how their biblical priorities empowered their transformation of culture.

This lecture is part of a luncheon and is only open to students at PBA.
