Mimi will give a lecture titled “Equal but Different: Men, Women, and the Gopsel” at Palm Beach Atlantic University, at 6:30pm on March 23.
From the description: Throughout history, the Church has taught three views on gender: male-leadership (unequal in being, unequal in function); shared leadership between men and women (equal in being, equal in function); and complementarianism (equal in being, unequal in role). This conversation will consider how each position developed in history. Second, we’ll examine the underlying assumptions regarding the value and dignity of women in each position. Finally, we’ll explore the teachings of Scripture as it supports gender difference but equality of being and role for both men and women. Throughout we’ll consider examples of each in culture teachings.
This event is not open to the general public.
