Dr. Mimi Haddad will be giving a presentation at the 2019 ETS Annual Meeting entitled “Arab Women’s Leadership in Peacemaking: The tail wagging the dog.”
Like women peacemakers worldwide, Arab women peacemakers are not only more successful at drafting peace agreements that endure, they’re also more willing to work across religious and political divides. What is more, they center and prioritize children and women who suffer the most in times of war. This presentation will consider how Arab women peacemakers work in the most challenging circumstances and yet offer powerful models of peacemaking.
