Frequently Asked Questions
What is CBE and what does CBE do?
Great question! CBE, Christians for Biblical Equality, is a nonprofit organization of Christian men and women who believe that the Bible, properly interpreted, teaches the fundamental equality of men and women of all ethnic groups, all economic classes, and all age groups, based on the teachings of Scriptures. To learn more visit our About CBE page.
What resources does CBE offer?
We offer a variety of inspiring resources. On our website you can find articles from our popular magazine, Mutuality, our academic journal, Priscilla Papers, and several other articles published from influential organizations and authors. In addition, you will find our engaging blog, Arise.
We also host an online bookstore that sells our journals, egalitarian books, recordings from our conferences, and more.
Can I write for CBE publications?
Yes! CBE welcomes submissions for each of our resources. Learn more about writing for our publications.
I saw something in a CBE article but I can't remember where I saw it. Can you help me find it?
We may be able to help. But before contacting us, we invite you to use the search feature of our website. Almost all our articles are hosted on the site, so it's likely that if we can find it, so can you. If you're still unable to find it, contact us and we'll see what we can do to help.
Does CBE host any events?
Yes we do! We have been hosting annual conferences since the early 1990s. We've held conferences all over the globe, from Kenya to Australia, Colombia to England, and back to our hometown of Minneapolis.
Along with our conferences we attend a variety of events hosted by other influential organizations, where you can often find us at an informational booth.
Finally, our many chapters host events each year. While most of our chapters can be found in the United States, we have a number of chapters representing CBE internationally as well.
How can I be involved in one of CBE's events?
We are always looking for volunteers to join us at our events as well as our partnering events. Volunteers host our booths and receive and transport our materials.
I noticed that there is not a chapter in my area. Can I start one?
We would love it if you started a chapter in your area! We just ask that you read through a few instructions and then you can begin a conversation with our Chapter Liaison.
Can you help me to find a local church, counselor, or spiritual director that holds to CBE's mission?
We would love to! In fact, we have created directories of egalitarian churches, egalitarian spiritual directors, and egalitarian counselors and therapists. Take a look at our directories and we hope you find what you are looking for.
If you go to an egalitarian church, or work as a counselor, therapist, or spiritual director, and you or your church should be on our list, contact us.
I am in full support of what CBE does! Is there some way I could donate to further CBE's growth?
Wonderful, thank you! We appreciate your support and your generosity.
CBE accepts donations in many forms. We accept one-time gifts, recurring monthly gifts, and more. We'll even accept cars, planes, and boats!
You can also donate stock or include CBE in your will.
