NEXT STEP: GENDER JUSTICE

Wondering what to do now? The following is a list of action steps you can take, organized by the featured article that inspired them. Please also be sure to send us your own ideas!

  • “Adopt” a woman in seminary. Encourage, pray, mentor, and provide financially for her.
  • Share this article and other CBE resources with friends and family exploring the issue of women in leadership.
  • Host a group discussion on a CBE book that encourages the full participation of women.
  • Consider starting or becoming involved in an already existing CBE chapter to brainstorm together how to encourage and empower local women in ministry and leadership.
  • Explore biblical passages on justice with your spouse or family.
  • Submit your own story of how you came to advocate for women to CBE for publication or use on our website.

  • Raise awareness of women’s issues by hosting a class or a discussion group on first-wave feminism and women’s history.
  • Research and write or blog on the historical connections between abolitionists and suffragists and discuss how faith in Jesus contributed to these important movements.
