"Why a Good Lebanese Girl Would Devote her Life to Promoting Biblical Gender Equality?: My personal and professional journey as a Christian feminist"
As a child of immigrant parents, I often found myself negotiating three cultures and languages simultaneously. My parents were grateful to raise their daughters in a country where “women could become whatever they wanted,” yet the evangelical church was less than welcoming to women such as me. Through it all, the influence of patriarchy, culturally and theologically, continually challenged my sense of value and vocation. My greatest joy and liberation came through my journey with God as an egalitarian activist.
